Palm Print

The latest fad isn't horizontal stripes, chevron or greek key prints. Ask Juicy Couture, and it's clearly palms. Their latest signature print in "cool green" comes in an iPhone case, scarf, and jacket/shorts matching duo (which definitely should be worn together). Other brand names have joined along in the trend, including Banana Republic with their Hampton fit cropped pants in green.

What do you think of the palm fad? Yay or Nay?

Jean jackets beyond 8th grade

Everyone had a jean jacket in grade school. They were the trademark look that came after the pastel colored GAP hoodies and before The North Face jackets became the norm in high school. I was over jean jackets for the past eight years, but now I find myself wanting one again. They're great to pair with summer dresses for a casual day, and look great over anything white. I'm a fan of the medium to darker washes, and I've had my eye on this one for a while now.

What's your take on jean jackets? Do you own one already? Have they made a comeback in your wardrobe?

I've scoured the internet (and M Street in Georgetown!) to find some of the best jean jackets at {somewhat} affordable prices. I think Madewell and J.Crew probably have the best-quality jackets, but there are a few other less-expensive ones as well. Here's a few of my favorites.

Cheers to the {Kate Spade} weekend

The wait is over. Kate Spade NY began marketing their new line, Kate Spade Saturday, last fall, and now the time has officially come, as it was launched yesterday! The label, named after everyone's favorite day of the week, is more affordable than their regular line so more women can afford the brand. I love many KSNY pieces, but obviously cannot afford the $400 price tag for a dress (honestly, how many people can?!)

I am kind of loving the rompers and shift dresses. The prints are bold, and the prices are a little easier on the wallet. What do you think of the new line?

Leather-sleeved jackets

When I was a sophomore in college about two years ago, my mom bought me a coat from BCBG that I had been swooning over for over six months. Being the sale stalker that she is (I learned from the best!), it wound up under the Christmas tree after she'd found it on super-sale for almost 60% off. To this day, it is still one of my favorite coats for many reasons, but one specifically: its faux leather sleeves.

In 2010, I remember getting strange looks on campus. Here I was, wearing an all black long peacoat with leather sleeves among other students clad in sweats and Uggs, because I dressed up for class more often than not. I called it my "Matrix" coat because I was surely channeling Keanu Reeves, but I loved it because it was something no one else had.

Now, almost everyone wants a coat with leather (or 'pleather') sleeves. The look can dress up or down an outfit, depending on what you pair your jacket with.

What would you wear a leather-sleeved jacket with?

The tutu trend

Whenever I see a girl in a tutu who's not on stage for a performance, my mind goes directly to Carrie Bradshaw and that iconic pale pink tutu from Sex and the City's opening credits. Fun fact: the tutu was actually fished out of a bargain bin at the last minute by the show's designer, Patricia Field, according to this article. While it may seem outlandish to wear a tutu in broad daylight if you're not SJP, it seems to be something of a trend lately. With a statement necklace and a laid back shirt/slouchy sweater, would you try out this look if you weren't a ballerina?
