A Pop of {cheap} Style: Forever 21 scarves

I have a love/hate relationship with scarves. Some days I find them to look fashionable on me, and others I think they look awful. Lately I've been loving pastels, and really love the look of lightweight scarves paired with a laid-back outfit such as white skinny jeans, a tank top and a denim vest. J.Crew sells perfect summer scarves, But I just can't seem to justify $150 for one accessory.

This is where Forever 21 comes in to save the day. Recently in stores are scarves that are of similar weight, and cute, pastel summer colors. I'm loving the light blues and pinks with subtle stripes. And with prices ranging from $7-$11, who could pass that up?

A Pop of {cheap} style: leather clutches

I've been looking for a camel brown leather clutch for some time now, and I can't think of spending over $150 on one. I have a faux leather crossover foldover from H&M that they still sell in stores, but it's half a bright/orangey color and doesn't go with everything. 

My favorite style is by Clare Vivier, but I can't pull the trigger on a clutch that costs about the same price as about a month of groceries (I'm on a tight budget!) I recently found something very similar to it at Gap, at nearly a quarter of the cost. I'm loving the brown and white one from Gap.

A Pop of {cheap} Style: Triangle strand necklace

Although I love Bauble Bar and all of the beautiful pieces they offer on their site, splurging on $30-$50 necklaces isn't exactly within my budget right now. I've been a fan of their Pave Tab Strand since it first came out, and was surprised to find something very similar to it at Forever 21. Of course, I gave in to it's $13 price tag almost instantly, and although it may not be as bright, big and shiny as the Bauble Bar one, it works nicely as a layering piece, or as an easy way to glam up a simple t-shirt!

A Pop of {cheap} Style: Slippers

Call me a grandma, but slippers have always been a part of my at-home wardrobe. Not in the summer of course, but in the winter I always roll out of bed and go straight for the flannel p.j. pants and slippers. In my fantasy world I would own three pairs of Ugg slippers, but let's be honest, the price tags on those are not realistic for footwear you only use at home. I just bought slippers from Target for a whopping $12.99, and they're so comfy and cozy. Unfortunately I couldn't find them online to include in this A Pop of {Cheap} Style post, but there are a few other Target steals below!

A Pop of {Cheap} Style: Cap toe pumps

It's one thing to color block dresses, skirts and tops, but when Kate Spade and other designers took it to another level by color blocking pumps last year, I was craving something I knew I couldn't afford. After I discovered Target Does it Again on Instagram, I discovered that you could have all the glam without breaking the bank. Target offers the cap toe pumps in a variety of colors, any of which would go perfect with a simple black dress + tights this holiday season. With a $32.99 price tag (compared to over $200 from KS and YSL!), can you really resist this deal?

A Pop of {cheap} Style: 'Target does it again'

Something either really amazing, or really horrible recently happened in the world of retail. This week I was introduced to "Target Does it Again," an Instagram account that chronicles all of the latest and greatest Target has to offer. As if we didn't already love this store enough, it's about to become even greater with an Instagram account that shows us items that will have us running to our nearest Target store to snag. A Pop of [cheap} style: Target's latest Sonia Kashuk collection

If you're a Target frequenter, chances are you've heard of Sonia Kashuk. Her partnership with Target was launched in 1999, and she became the first make-up artist brand in the mass sector. Since then, Kashuk has been a part of creating her Target cosmetic line, and her latest project does not disappoint. 

Appropriately titled "TGIF" (Thank God It's Fall), the line includes limited edition hair accessories and beauty products in fall shades. They've already started trickling into stores, and more will be arriving August 19. A few of my favs are below.

A pop of {cheap} style: The bubble necklace

If you're a J.Crew frequenter, or following any of my favorite blogs, chances are you've seen J.Crew's Bubble Necklace. The perfect statement piece, the necklace that can make an outfit, but is infamously expensive at $150.

Lucky for us, there's a loophole: knockoffs. Many blogs have featured the exact same necklace, only this time there's a different price tag that looks a little easier on our wallets. Ily Couture is one of many websites, taking the same necklace but creating it at a more affordable price... how does $37-$49 sound? Yes please!

And they come in a wide array of colors, so you could buy three for the price of one of J.Crew's bubble necklaces.

A pop of {cheap} style: summer dresses for a steal

I can walk into Target with only laundry detergent and shampoo on my shopping list, and come out with at least three other finds in my bag. Why is it that this happens at Target and no where else? Those who know me can say this is my number one weakness, but I blame it on Target's exceptionally good branding and marketing tactics.

Honestly, if this wasn't a real issue, would there be an e-card about it?

Not-so-long-story short, I left Target with a sundress I didn't need. I'm sure glad I tried it on though, because it's been my summer staple. I've had many compliments on it, and I love seeing people's surprised faces when I tell them it's from Target. Unfortunately it didn't come in different colors (without a doubt I would have bought every color), but, as is always the case with Target, there's plenty more choices to choose from. Each of the six dresses below are between $20-$25, so you don't have to put a dent in your wallet!
